 About Us

Picture

100+ Women Who Care was started in November of 2006 by Karen Dunigan of Jackson, Michigan, as a brilliantly simple way to raise money efficiently and quickly for local charities. Her group of 100 women, at their first one-hour meeting, each wrote a check for $100 directly to the charity, raising $10,000 to buy 300 new baby cribs for an organization in their city. Since then, they have grown to over 200 members and 100 Women Who Care chapters are forming all over the country. Nationally, the groups have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to locally based organizations. Today there are dozens of 100+ Women Who Care circles around the country. Following in the lead of those 100+ women who have come before us, we have assembled a team of volunteers hoping to achieve the same level of success in raising money for our local charities.

Steering Committee

Facilitator

Mindy Broman is a long-time volunteer with the Monroe School District, the Boy Scouts of America, and other organizations. Her role is to oversee the overall direction and reach of the 100+ Women Who Care of South Snohomish County (100+ SSC). Mindy’s areas of focus for the board includes leading the charity communications wishing to receive a donation from 100+ SSC. Mindy is an excellent communicator, team builder, and she desires to help people.

Secretary

Teresa Allen-Martin joined 100+ SSC with the primary responsibility of maintaining bylaws, minutes, and procedures and ensuring we remain on task, on time and focused on our mission. She will also document events and provide photography for our social media program. Teresa has volunteered with several community organizations, but was looking for an opportunity to impact a broader number of people in need. 100+ SSC is an excellent fundraising vehicle in which to address multiple needs throughout the year.

Recruiting and Media Coordinator

Kerrie Gonzalez is a long time community volunteer and has worked with a number of district schools, non-profit organizations, and individual families in need. She'll be putting her networking abilities to work to increase our membership with the goal of 100 members (at least!). Kerrie will arrange for publicity for our group, including distributing flyers, and requesting posting of notifications in community groups (including schools, churches, etc.), and otherwise creating an awareness of our group in the community.
